my main engine fuse keeps blowing on me....it did it first when i redlined the car...now it does it whenever it feels like it.... every now and then my car starts up and idles really shitty...you can smell gas real bad from the engine so it must be running super rich..... i think my ecu is shot but i dont want to get another one that i will blow up because i have a short somewhere....any ideas on why im blowing fuses?? thanks

Check the hot wire going to the alternator.

Lets just say this... I'm over 100whp and soon to cross 200whp. Thanx 2GNT! Now if I could only learn to prove it.

I was going to say alternator as well. So that's 2 votes alternator. Make sure it is wired correctly, and MAKE SURE the ground is inside the little plastic housing sheild. It it is touching any metal it will blow the ECU fuse every time. BTW - I believe it's 120amp fuse, you can get away with a 110amp. I had a difficult time finding a 120.

i dont think its the alternator doing it....first of all the alternator has its own fuse which would blow first...second ive double checked it and the starter....the only way i can get the car started is to hit the ecu/fuse box/msd area.....i know its not the msd because ive tried bypassing it and it still didnt help....any ideas?

It's one of the wires near your EGR valve. Check for melted plastic on the EGR pipe and track down the wire that's melted.

Anytime an engine sensor shorts out, it blows the motor fuse.
