...And I bet it'd still find some way to squeal and otherwise just plain piss me off. So I've been living with that annoying squealing belt problem off and on for years now and today after playing with it for hours i think I finally gotthe belts lined up and tensioned correctly. Played with the alt and p/s belts put on gatorbacks and now its quiet....
...Except now i hop in to start her up and she's quiet and all is well. Go to roll down the windows I've got nothing...go to lock the doors...still nothing. What the hell did I break?
Not a blown fuse because the alarm still locks the doors so I am guessing that I knocked some wiring around while playing with the tensioner pulley but I have no idea what wires would be up there, anyone have a clue?
She's quiet but now it's hot and i want fresh air damnit...is it too much to ask

well I know why the car was so quiet now. went for a test drive and the damn thing threw the p/s belt. So now I have now popwer windows and no A/C. This car is starting to look like a great trade on a 350Z.
Can anyone help me with my power windows/locks and now the stupid acc. belt? PLEASE? I'm begging.

well it's possible the reason you threw the acc. belt was because the tensioner bearing is bad. i had that problem. just get a new tensioner. try putting it back on and tightening it back up. see what happens. maybe it wasn't tightened down enough. who knows.

You could just try not using the tensioner. I had belt problems like crazy, every 2 months my car would shread them. My problem was the crank pulley had a chip in it, so new underdrive pulley fixed it. But I couldn't get the tension right with the tensioner, ended up breaking the bolt on twice so I took it off, measured around the pulleys, got a belt the same length, haven't had a problem yet. Btw you can use the power steering pump to adjust tension. You might have had the tension to tight to throw off the belt though. It just takes a little trial and error. Keep trying stuff and you will figure it out.
