#79186, "Rear Main / Clutch"

Has anyone had a leak in the rear main seal that seeped into the bell housing of the tranny and caused the clutch to slip?
This is the only thing I can conclude from taking the bellhousing off to inspect the clutch. Black residue everywhere.

Yes.

Take off the clutch and replace the rear main. Don't nick the engine surface, and you can do it without taking the engine apart fairly easily.

Yea, mine is slipping too.. Like he said, yank the tranny, carefully replace the seal, and all will be resolved.
