Hey all, I just got the NTK o2 sensor from Nopi, part number 23023. But the plug is totally different from the stock upstream o2 sensor plug. The position of the four pins is different than the way the stock one is configured, so it won't even plug in? What am I supposed to do? Also, there are two white wires? Are these two white wires the same thing? Am I supposed to reuse the stock plug? Thanks.

Yeah you have to use the stock plug, at least when i did mine i did. The new sensor came with crimp on connectors to use. The two white wires are not the same, but what i did is to look at the two sensors side by side and line up the wires. should be 4 of em, like this OO

should be black, grey, and 2 whites. Line up the black and the grey, and just use this as a template, hopefully you took note of which white wire was what, remembering its location on the sensor before you cut it off! I just took note of which white wire was next to the grey wire, and just hooked it up like that. No problems, works great. Hope this helps. Aslo you should be able to note the wire locations on the plug on the car, it might help too, to figure out which wire goes where.

Oh ok so I have to cut off the plugs and reuse the stock plug...I have a little problem though. The stock plug looks like this:

Gray Black
White White

Black Gray
White White

The black and gray seem to be on opposite sides. So should I just connect the grays and blacks first, and then the whites. If I do that, the whites will end up on opposite sides compared to the original ntk configuration. Do you get what I'm saying? Also, mine didn't comes with any connectors, just two zipties? Thanks.

Yeah, I just got mine in the mail too... I didnt expect it to be plug and play either... not for 45 bux.. maby for the 175 dollar OEM mitsu replacement.. anyways, I havent installed it yey but i probably will tomorrow or saturday, so I'll let you know what conclusion I came to if no one else has filled us in... I think Dino just replaced his not long ago?

So your're sayin that when the 2 stock plugs are plugged in together, that the black matches with the grey, and the grey matches with the black? It shouldn't, not from what i can remember. Plug the stock o2 in, and note which white wire is next to the black for instance. cut this wire. Then take your new o2, and find the white wire thats next to the black on it. connect these two whites, and then just conect the rest of em. I got my o2 from Napa, and it had the crimp conectors on the new one, and they double as heat shrinks also. It might have been the Bosche one? hope this helps. But your wire colors should match up at the stock plugs, if it doesn't than maybe you got the wrong o2?

Whats up with the NTK shit...I also ordered myn from NOPI and it is a NGK not a NTK one! Perfect fit!

Thanks guys, I installed it myself today. It was amazingly easy to get the o2 sensor off with a 22 mm wrench. Required barely any force..guess I was lucky.

Here is what I did. The wire patterns don't match up exactly, but I did some research, and the two white wires are interchangeable. They are for the heater and polarity does not matter. So just cut both sensors wires in half, and use connectors to connect the black to black, gray to gray, and 2 whites to 2 whites (doesn't matter which white to which white). Then I also got some heat shrink tubing, and put it around all the four crimp connectors (so it was a large diameter tube). Used matches to shrink it, and just put it back in easily. But I couldn't torque it, since I'm using a 22 mm wrench. How hard should I tighten it? I already drove around and its working, good.

But I have one question: Do your a/f gauges read 0 bars when you let off the gas? Like if I'm driving at 40 mph, and slow down, it reads 0 bars, and only when I am almost to a complete stop, it starts jumping around again. Is this normal?

BTW, NGK and NTK are the same company, and there was no way my universal o2 would have fit the stock plug. The box says it's for Kia/Mitsu. Part number 23023. This is the part number Nopi lists for us. Maybe some year's were different, or maybe they used to sell a different o2 sensor? Mine is a 97. Thanks for the help guys...
