Yesterday, I was trying to glue my door handle back togther, since one of the plastic clips broke, and I had it clamped, so the door had to be open. It ran fine that day. I disconnected the battery, so I wouldn't drain it while the door was open. I reconnect it this morning, and it won't start. I push start it, and it's fine, so I let it run for a while. I go back out, and the temp gauge is almost all the way to the top. I checked the battery, and the wires were a little loose, so now it starts fine, but why is it running so hot? What the hell is going on?

It was fine a day ago. I have until monday to get this fixed too. Shit.

head gasket
thermostat
waterpump

prolly more, but check the usual

B/c it's hot in Miami.

Seriously though, most likely your thermostat. If you have high miles and never did your water pump it could be that to.

Gocheap and easy first... Kinda like my ex-wives! Try the Radiator cap. Old cap doesn't hold proper pressure and then your boiling point drops. If that isn't it then try your thermostat. Also look at the air flow through the radiator and condensor, if you have A/C. Make sure that there isn't anything blocking it. Leaves bugs road kill etc... Make sure that your Fan is actually coming on. Then you can look at the other things like water flow for the pump and the head gasket. When did you last have the coolant sys flushed and filled? should do it about every two years. Loses its properties and starts causing corrosion and flakes and deposits and the other crap that can cause problems.
