ok i did a search and came up shaort... maby not the right words or something.
neway i got a new engine for my car and am ordering rods and pistons
i want to lower my compresion to 8.6.1 and i know that it will lower performance till turbo but can't afford to do it twice...
my question is this will run with everything stock and lowered comp.
and when i get my turbo do i have to change anything in the kit to run w/ this comp.
sorry for my newbness buttt i'm buying this stuff tomorow and need to know if it is the right choice

Yes. eclipseman1999 did that after AZ2GNT did his rebuild for awhile.

Other than tuning for fuel/boost.

How long before you go turbo? It will run fine but you power will suck....no other alternatives really to save money in the long run i know. Do you have to build the motor now? Is youer takign a crap. You could spend your money in a turbo kit or make one and do the motor later? Either way will work fine. Hell for giggles you can add a nitrous setup so you can still have a little fun here and there.

yeah for the money you cant go wrong with the 250.00. I was thinking put your turbo kit on enjoy 6 psi~8psi while you build a forged bottom end ya know. As for parts to rebuild with.....go to Howell Automotive and look at their engien kit. it tells you everything you get. Make a list and price the parts individually. For rods and pistons/rings look at Ebay, type in 420A in the search. There is a guy who sells the combo for 765.>eagle rods, JE pistons, Hasting rings i think. That alone is cheaper than Howell so you start saving there. Howell is best place for oil pump at 99.00, bearing i have not really researched as much. I get wholesale cost so i figured i would go with OEM from the dealer for gaskets/seals and bearings. The price bob kise sells is wholesale so he would be a good source to check for the small things too. Use concelli as a reference for what the part costs from the dealer at www.partznet.com That will give you an idea what the dealer charges.

I base all my part costs off Howell to see what i am saving.
