Ok I have been having this tickin noise for a while and this might be my like 3rd post about it but anywho.

The ticking noise is only heard in idle and while accelerating. I noticed that when I down shift to come to a stop (and do not press the gas) the ticking noise is not there. So I was wondering might this be Injector tick? Its pretty loud and you can here it inside with the windows rolled up. I have 42lb ford green top injectors. My idle FP is 10 I later found out that those injectors shouldnt go any lower than 20 psi or your underworking them or something like that? Any help???? What could I do to make sure it was the injectors besides the obvious and change them?

not all lifter tick cases are the same. skrillas lifter's tick only under throttle, not at idle.

try this...pop your hood with the engine idling. rev the motor by pulling on the throttle cable. stick your ear up to the valve cover. hear a rattling/ticking sound?

Ford Green Tops don't tick hardly at all- they're very quiet. And if you're able to idle at 10psi, there's nothing wrong with that. Most of us just can't get it to idle smoothly at anything below 20.

Ticking loud enough to be heard over an accelerating motor is metal on metal somewhere.

Guys? Uh, We don't have lifters...(DOHC or SOHC) Are you talking about the hydraulic lash adjusters? If they are ticking the service mans. I have say change them... Not to be a smart ass but... The noiose these things make can easily be switched or thought of as inj. noise and vice/versa.

So now at 44 what the hell do I do?
