Well a while back i posted about an interesting tapping noise from my engine. Well turns out I fried 2 pistons/rings/ etc. yeah for me...Oh well anyone else had this joy yet? I think it was part me/part the first owner. I priced a reman. engine and its like 4k installed..ouch. I am know I could find an engine for less but the warranty is awesome. 3 year/120k mile..whatcha think? Peace, Brandon

hey- no sound recording. The car ran but was having huge issues..it kept dying and it was the roughest idle I have ever heard. I was/am thinking about getting anotehr engine but this one has the best warranty and with the miles i drive everyday I am going to need that 120000 mile coverage.

What about rebuilding your fried engine? That has to be less than 4k. I assume you could just bore it 0.02 over, clean up the crank, and put a bottom end kit in. A stock bottom end kit is $384 and a performance kit is $1,199. Machining would be $250-400. Bigger pain, but lower cost.
