Well some of you MIGHT remember my thread earlier, basically I was getting some shitty noises from my engine on cold start... new wires new plugs... compression test cold/warm are fine... Shop pulled these codes:

42 PO352 43 Ignition coil #2 primary circuit Harness and connector / Ignition coil #2
43 PO351 43 Ignition coil #1 primary circuit Harness and connector / Ignition coil #1

So what am I looking at? Shop says #1 generally means at or before coil #2 generally means after coil (or something like that prolly different order) They havent done jack shit for various reasons... but I can deal with it... This CEL arrived RIGHT after I did my compression test (I disconnected the coil at the relay) Didnt SEE any cracks in the exterior of the coil, but I'm sure something could have happened internally... Or on the harness for that matter, it looks pretty ratty.

What should they do next? I don't want to get anally raped when I get the bill.

If they think that's what it means, you need to take it somewhere else.

There are two coils, A and B. A fires 1&3, B fires 2&4. You have a bad coil (both are throwing codes). Take you car back, thank them for their time, tell them to go fuck themselves, and buy an OEM coil, or a Screamin Demon for $70. That'll fix your problem if those codes are really the issue.

HAHAHAHAH!!!! that's an awesome comment! what fuck'n idiots! just to make sure it IS the coil. you can check for resistance on the coil and see if it's within specs with a voltmeter,Primary coil should range 0.51~0.61ohms and secondary 11.5~13.5kohms i also had this problem when my stupid ass EGR pipe melted the wires to the coil so i'd check that as well.

Lol anyways....if you need a coil i have few laying around. Let me know what plug you have round pin or flat pin. I have both but round pin is discontinued, if youbuy a screamin demon or MSD you need to buy the flatpin connector. If you still have that DP i will swap you, coil for DP. Actually all i want are the DAMN flanges and o2 bung.

Yeah... I have money now so it would probably be easier to just do it myself... I only took it in because my boss said hed put it on his tab... but I get the feeling (because its sat for two weeks) that he HAS no tab with this place.. lol

I wish I had my haynes with me so I knew what you guys were talking about... He did mention there being two coils... I'll call back and get more details on Weds...

Make sure it's the coil before you buy it though. You said you got the codes right after doing your compression test so it may have been from not having the plugs and wires in while doing your test. You may need to disconnect your battery to reset those codes. I know mine always throws a cel after I do a compression test.
