#7764, "idle fluctuation"

On my way home today I stopped at a traffic light and noticed that my idle was fluctuating between 700 and 1000rpm, i couldnt feel/hear any change in the engine, but that is what the tach was reading. After driving a little while, the fluctuating stopped. The car was heated up already by the way, the temp gauge was already in the middle. Is this a big problem or something that can be solved quickly and easily???

i get the same thing with my 99.

right when i start her, she idles at 1K, then when warmed up a lil and the thermo at the same usual spot sh idles around 500rpms. soemtimes it will jump around a cuple 100
causes i have found is using any accesories, moving the steering wheel, turn a/c on, ect. but she still jumps around from time to time

i wouldnt worry too much about it, u have just been sittin at stop lights for too long,

Mine idles around 1000rpm when cold and then sits around 750-850 range when warm. You could check some sensors, but it doesn't sound too bad right now.

i believe that slight idle surge as it is sometimes know as is common among our cars... now if it starts jumpin around to like 2k then i would be worried, but i think its just normal for that slight fluctuation... mine does it all the time...
