Can anyone give me any tips on doing this. How hard is this for a guy that can basically change his own oil, plugs, etc, etc......This is my 1st attempt to flush a radiator.

Ok under the radiator in the left side there is a little screw that does just that.

What I did last is a process of five easy steps.

1.- Unscrew the thingy in the bottom, (letting all the water get out)
2.- Use a hose to add water, all the watter from the radiator will be flushed.
3.- Screw again the little thingy from the bottom
4.- Ad water (or antifreeze if you feel like wasting a lot of money)
5.- Turn on the car for a few minutes, until the fans kick in, (about 5 mins so that the thermostat opens and flows water to the engine block.
6.- Flush it again (carefull is going to be hot)

Either do it a few times, or just one, the last time you do it do add the antifreeze and water (around 50% of each). and add the watter wetter from redline i hear it does wonders and it does work.

There is a metal hose that runs in front of the manifold on top of it, there is a 5'' rubber section right by the thermostat... Cut it in 1/2 and install a "T" you can buy at any auto parts store, or buy the whole flush kit for 5 or 6 bux. Then hook up the hose and flush the system.. There's other ways to flush it but this way is easy and effective. You can leave the "T" installed if you want, but I'm turbo and running a lot hotter than NA so I just melt them so I have to remove it.... Actually, if you want to do it right, get some super flush you can buy at autozone. You flush the system. Then fill with water and the super flush, then you run the engine for 4 hrs, this allows the chemicals to work their magic, they will unclog mineral deposits and everything, then you do another flush and then you can fill back up with whatever you want. I use pure water and a bottle of water wetter, this keeps the temps down about 20 deg or so, and it has additives to lubricate the waterpump, never run pure water or you'll wear out the water pump, or so I have been told. I use some antifreeze in the winters.
