#77549, "Bosal vs. Magnaflow"

I am trying to decide on a catback exhaust system. I'm looking for something that gives a lower and meaner sound than stock, but isn't much louder. I'm looking at either the Bosal cat-back or Magnaflow. I have found some soundbites on the Magnaflow page but haven't been able to find anything for the Bosal. Anyone have any suggestions either way, I can get the Bosal for $318 and the Magnaflow for $340 + a free high flow cat, both delivered. Good price? Anyone think the performance difference between the two would be very large?

Do you have a test pipe or anything that would make your Magnaflow any louder? I'm really not looking for something to piss the neighbors off with.

2.5" Cat-back into an off the shelf Magnaflow muffler. Stock header, stock downpipe and stock cat. It's a 3000 pound honda.

As long as your changing your piping (meaning not just the muffler) to a bigger size and leaving everything else stock our cars are going to be louder. If you are really concerned about noise level but want a performance edge the GST muffler is not a bad option. It's proven to get about same gains as the systems your looking at and it's a heck of a lot cheaper. I had one on my car for about year before going turbo 2 years ago and I loved it.

I realize it will be louder, I was just wondering between these two which you guys thought was quieter. If there's any other brand you think will provide a quiet deep tone please let me know. I don't want to shell out 500+ for an apexi, or greddy though.

It's not that I want a silent exhaust, I just don't want to have to scream in order for a passenger to hear me. If I were to go with the Magnaflow or Borla do you think those prices are ok, or should I shop around more?

Are the Greddy SP's 500? I didn't think they were that much. I know the Greddy Evo's cost around 5. I've been told the Greddy SP has a good sound.

I think when I was looking around they were maybe 450 or so, but with shipping they're probably close to 500.

If I'm going to spend money on an exhaust I think I'd like to buy it new. I just like the peace of mind of it, not worrying about the warranty carrying over, previous use, wear, etc call me anal. I also heard the Apexi was kinda loud, nice but loud. And the Greddy was just more than I wanted to spend. If you know where I could pick up a nice used one I wouldn't be against it, I couldn't find one looking around earlier though.

Check dsmtrader.com. If it's not on there it doesn't exist.

to be honest, my gst catback sounds better than most aftermarket exhausts that ive heard. Now, the greddy evo and apexi n1 are badass and have the gst beat, but thats a big difference. I paid 65 bucks for my gst catback to the 550 for a greddy/apexi. With a cai/55mm tb/greddy header/gutted cat, at 5k rpms the car screams like an all motor beast. You cant beat that sound with a 10 foot stick.

Gutted Cat Greddy Evo Catback
