ill be driving at a steady speed and the car will do some weird idle and cut off but continue to run and then go back to normal with in a few moments then the service engine soon will come on , i went to advanced auto and the error code was the p0505 and i need help a friend said it could be the trottle body may need to be cleaned. please help me i need to get it fixed and it cant be costly my bike will be in soon, dont have engouh for both ...!!!

PO 505 - idle air control motor/wire and harness- either take it out and clean it or get a new one problem should be solved

**another response i had in a similar thread*** check it. scroll all the way down.

its your idle air control motor, either replace it ot pull it off and clean it out with some carb cleaner or something. sometimes they are known to give us some problems. also check the wiring for it, the wiring may have touched the EGR pipe and melted it or something. either way its either the sensor, or the wiring. clean the sensor first. its located on the back of the throttle body with two phillips screws holding it in if i remember right. i highlighted it for you here in this pic:



basically, disconnect the harness....get the bolts out, and pull the sensor out. theres a pointed barb that goes into the throttle body with an O-ring around it. thats what needs to be cleaned. either some gunk or wd-40 or something like that will work. put it back in, see how she runs. make sure its cleaned good. if it still gives you problems, check the wiring and/or replace the whole sensor.
