im changing my head gasket on my 95 RS so i decided to change the timing belt and other 2 belts. problem is ive got everything off besides the bracket of the engine mount on the timing cover. i cant take it out cause 2 bolts are still on cause the bolts are about like 5 inches long and theres not enough space to pull it out. what is it i have to do to get this off. my last resort is lifting the engine out.

Welcome to the oldest and worst problem with 2GNT timing belts.
If you read the timing belt faq's on the 2gnt.com main page, itll tell you that you have basically 2 choices:
1) Loosen and remove 3 of the 4 motor mounts and jack the engine WAYYYY up in the air. Unbolt and barely bend the hardlines out of the way if necessary.
2) Drill a hole in the wheelwell big enough to slide the bolt out through. You will need a VERY large bit and a grinder to do this. Dont miss and puncture the hardlines running inside the engine compartment.
3) I've found with a big enough crowbar and a longass 2x4 for leverage against the opposite firewall, you can also bend the sheetmetal enough to get it out. This method usually involves shattering the timingbelt cover and possibly a knuckle or eyeball as well.

well i mean yea....you ARE changing a 2gnt timing belt.
i just drilled a hole in the metal inside the wheel well for the ease of getting that bolt out later. its seriously easier that way in my findings. dont have to mess around with jackin it up or anything, just unscrew it with an extension and a socket. then when it has to go back in...badda bing

instead of drilling holes, i found if you jack up the enginme high enouhg you can get the motor mount out, takes a little finesse, but IT IS possible (i did it)

its only ONE hole. and like i saidm its much easier than jacking up the motor and all that. you'll remember this when you want to change it again and are like fuck...now i gotta jack it way up again.
its just easier in the long run. but i dont plan on selling my car so timing belt change comes and goes. once, twice, thrice
