my belt has started squeeling and i looked at the tensioner to figure out how to fix it. just want to make sure so i don't screw up. also is it possible to overtighten? tia

The worst thing that can happen if you do overtighten is have the belts squeel.
The tensioner pulley sits on a sliding bracket with a threaded bolt through it. Turnm the bolt to move the pulley forward and back to adjust tension.
