my computer is sayin that there is something wrong with my egr valve, before i replace that $90 piece is there anything else it could, has anyone had or have this prob, it makes my can run lean at almost all times, until ive driven it for around an hour then it goes back to normal, could be the the 02 sensor not heating up right and the computer got it wrong or what, this is really important someone help me out

What exact code does it give you? That would help determine the cause.

check all vacuum lines going into/out of the egr for cracks/broken hose. if its fine then remove the steel egr tube and clean it with a long wire brush. if that still doesnt help then replace the EGR valve and solenoid.
but yes the actual CEL code would help too

its 32, but it hasnt come back on again, after i reset the ecu it acted normal for awhile, now its back to runnin lean to stoich, it never gets halfway through stoich, it does a sweep but it illuminates like all leds from lean to stoich, and when i let off the gas it goes all the way lean with no light, i tried all the vaccuum hoses their perfect, and im gonna try that pipe like u said, is there any chance this has anything to do with the 02 sensor?

Yeah. Your gauge (which is only accurate at WOT BTW ASAP IMO ETC) is tapped into the signal wire from the front heated O2. If your O2 is cashed, it's not going to be sending the right signal to the ECU, the gauge should be reading that. However, when the ECU sees the O2 is toast, it should revert back to a preset rich fuel trim to save the engine from detonation.

And if you need a new EGR in the end, make a post here in the sale/wanted forum. I bet you could find one for like $30 or better. emoji

Yeah, I have an egr valve and pipe for sale if you need it. In fact I almost brought it to the scrap metal heap with my stock exhaust mani and collector this weekend so hit me up fast!
