Okay well heres the deal, With my afx 55mm tb I get this annoying 2000rpm idle till I get to a dead stop and then it drops to 1000rpms or so but every 30 seconds or so it bumps up to 1200-1300 rpm for a few seconds then drops back. If I put my stock throttle body back on with the same sensors the car runs fine. I called Gary at Howell and he had me unplug my IAC motor and nothing happened so he said that means there is nothing wrong with the afx tb and its something else. Yet again I reminded him that with my stock tb everything was fine and so basically I'm stuck with a $280.00 piece of crap. Any suggestions would be appreciated..........Thanks in advance

Make sure the gasket is not torn, maybe even try rtv on the gasket there might be air getting by making the idle uneven. Also look and see if the plate is closing all the way.

I know for sure my plate is closing all the way. The gasket is not torn. I sprayed some starting fluid all around the tb and nothing happened. If I did have some air getting in wouldn't the starting fluid have picked up on it. What gets me is how it holds the 2k rpm idle till I come to a complete stop. Thanks for the help

I just mean that if I had a leak chances are that the starting fluid would of found it and made my idle erratic or high for a brief second or so. I'm just not sure what to do...........It doesnt sound like Gary at Howell will let me return it and thats alot of money to spend on something you cant use. If I were to replace the IAC motor, could I just get one for an eagle talon???? Just wondering because I have a dodge dealership right here in town but the mitsubishi dealer is 60 miles awya so it would make it alot easier for me to get it right here in town.

i used the starter fluid method on my ic piping and it didn't work. i ended up takin all the pipes off and reclamping them and now i dont have a boost leak. so i'd suggest takin the tb off and using some rtv with the gasket that may take care of your issue.
