I am wanting to get the biggest TB I can. I will be getting a OBX intake manifold soon(accepts up to a 66mm). Where can I bet something that would even be close to that?

Theres the Jeep TB too - thats a 60mm. Check my sig for a writeup.

You have plenty of options to go with on this. You could bore the stock TB out from 49 to make it 52mm(maybe 51). There are some aftermarket 55, 57, and 60mm TBs.

But I'll agree with these guys. Do some research on it before you jump in. There are alot of posts about experiences with various TB sizes on this board.

i thought that obx manifold only accepeted stock tb's? There was a thread on this & the guy who bought it said he had to port his tb outlet when he got a bigger tb b/c it accepted stock size.

Doesn't matter what size TB any manifold will accept. The simple fact is that, unless you have something like a turbo to ram massive amounts of air through the two bolt-ons, your air velocity is going to get progressively lower as the intake gets bigger and bigger. The engine can only suck so much air. It's just like when people install a 3" exhaust on a non-turbo or make their own custom CAIs and use piping too big. The velocity of the incoming air is lowered and power suffers as a result.

So I should probly be looking at getting a bored stock?

If I were you, yes. It all depends on your mods and plans for the near future man. You going turbo this fall? Then get the 60mm. If a turbo is still pretty much a dream at this time, then I wouldn't go more than 57mm and I'd do it as cheap as I could.

As for the manifold, pretty much everyone here thinks that intake manifold is more for show than go. Consider this:

You were thinking about a MP 60mm ($300) and OBX manifold ($250?). That's $550 imo.

Send your entire intake mani and TB (or buy a spare set and send them) to www.fierroracing.com He can bore out your stock TB to 55-57mm, match the intake mani to it, then port out the lower intake runners for a totally trick intake system (aside from CAI/shortRam). I'm not 100% sure on the prices right now, but I'm thinking he quoted me $75 to do the manifold and another $75 for the TB. So that's $150 for some serious mods that will yield gains whether your turbo or not. Then you check the sale wanted forum here or the DSMtrader and find yourself a GST rear section for $100 (to keep the math simple). Replace your cat with a cherry bomb style glass pack, and replace the straight piping on the rest of the system with some 2.5" pipe you buy in bulk, and now you've got everything except your CAI and header taken care of and you've spent $450 or less. Out of the money you would've spent on just a hogged out TB and manifold, you will have nearly built a complete NA intake/exhaust system and see some nice gains (nothing big, but noticeable nonetheless and certainly a smart step towards making the most of any engine mods like cams and timing).

If you can't tell, I'm all about pinching pennies here bro. I'm trying to have one of the most wicked all motor setups in the country (well, at least the most wicked one that runs reliably cream420a ). There are plenty of ways to throw money at your car. Wouldn't you rather get the most for your money? Especially when we're only talking maybe 10-15chp?

fast fabricatiosn is working on a mass produced header that'll replace the cat 2.5" . 100 to be produced in about a month or two. I might get one and post dyno results maybe who knows..

I am glad I found this forum. I would love turbo but I just dont have the cash flow to get it(for now). So a cherry glasspack for my cat, a GST back cat, p&p TB and manifold. Sounds good.
