Well just got done putting my udp and 55mm tb on today. If anyone still has there doubts about the udp all I can say is I am very impressed with the gains. RPM's climb much faster than before and anyone with a little patience can do the install. Took me about 2.5-3 hrs to install and this was my first one. I dont think for $140.00 you'll find a mod that will notice as much as this. After I was done test driving the new pulley I went ahead and installed my 55mm tb. I didnt notice nearly as much of a gain with this as I did with the pulley but it is a little noticeable but the biggest difference is how crisp the throttle response is. Very very touchy. My only complaint is that I will need to hook up an extra throttle return spring. It seems like the tolerances between the plate and the bore are so tight that the throttle doesnt return all the way and it keeps my idle around 1500-2000 but if I move the linkage by hand it drops right down. Anyone else have this problem with the afx?? But anyways I feel it was money well spent and I would like to thank everyone for the recommendations on these products. Finally a mod that doesnt make you feel like you got ripped off.

yeah i got that 55mm and afx does't do a very good job milling the butterfly smoothly it wants to stick or they have dings in the plate over all it is a good product.

Daniel, I noticed that Techboy's AFX 55mm TB had some issues too. I was over helping him put a motor in and he had it sitting on a bench.
The first thing I noticed was that the throttle stop screw wasn't adjusted properly. In closed throttle position theres a stop-screw thats supposed to prevent the shaft from rotating too far. If the stop screw isn't adjusted high enough then the plate will stick in the bore.
After I adjusted his stop-screw(you have to remove a small aluminum cap to get to it) I noticed that the butterfly plate wasn't aligned properly. You can tell if its aligned properly if you hold the TB up to your eye and look at a light. You shouldn't see any light coming through around the edges. To properly align it, loosen the 2 bolts that hold the plate to the throttle shaft. Then open/close the throttle and basically jiggle the plate till all the light is blocked in the closed position - and tighten up on the bolts.
I don't know if this'll solve your problems. If the plate is truely "not-round" like you're claiming, then there's nothing you can do except get a new plate. Chris' plate was good'n'round....it just wasn't assembled properly.

Yup, just like MetalJim said ... and my throttle is sensitive as hell now. I love it. Where the petal used to stick is now just an even and aggresive acceleration. Now, I just have to work out the quirks with the rest of the car. Thanks MJ
