ok, so i figured it was time to go ahead and map out all my plans for repairing and rebuilding my motor and body damage from my accident, so that i will have a reference point to look at when implementing all of this work. if you aren't aware of what my "accident" was click the link below:
so i will list everything here, including parts and labor costs and hopefully get some advice and corrections from you guys about all of this, so feel free to point out any errors, or any items i may have overlooked. (for example, does VT include a new head gasket with their rebuilt motor like howell does)?
ENGINE PARTS & LABOR VT rebuild cost............................ $1845 shipping motor to/from VT........... $ 240 installation of VT motor................ $ 500? HRC stage I to II upgrade.......... $1050 2.5" downpipe & hi-flo cat........... $ 350 2.5" exhaust piping..................... $ 200 dual mufflers................................ $ 300 greddy type-s bov........................ $ 200 water pump & head gasket.......... $ 230 Hydraulic Tensioner...................... $ 146 ARP Head Studs........................... $ 139 Tensioner Pulley.............................. $ 90 Idler Pulley....................................... $ 71 Spark Plug Well Gaskets................... $ 30 motor oil..................................... $ 50 Thermostat.................................. $ 14 Thermostat Gasket......................... $ 3 total engine cost........................ $5458

OUCH! please add any comments about this list, things i may have overlooked or forgotten, or areas i could cut costs. the BOV and mufflers are not necessitys now, but i may as well get it all done at once.

not sure yet...i need to know a bit more about it before i decide. i've been told that since i did the turbo kit by myself i could do the motor swap as well...i'm just not sure if i have the right tools. i don't have the slightest clue where to start when swapping a motor. are there any good write-ups for our motor?
