#76567, "questions about what turbo would be best....."
well for quite a while now i've been learning alot about fuel tuning and been building my block (specs in Dsm Registry. I was hoping you guys would be willing to give me a lil more info on the options we have for turbos. I am facing a lil different dilema than most... im forged at 9.7:1 compression NOT 8.8:1 compression. I know all the tuning issues but if you can start turbo on a stock block at 9.6 why not turbo on a built at 9.7. This raise in compression will definately affect the spooling time of turbos and that is where i was hoping to get the most info. This will be my daily driver and im not to thrilled about being at 14psi at only 3k rpms. I have been trying to get information between a Hahn S16g, Hahn S20g, and ported and clipped Evo 16g. Would i be able to control boost levels at low rpm with a smaller turbo well enough to keep it only in partial boost until above 4k? Or would the 20G be a better option for a slower spool. Really my goals aren't to outrageous i would be more than thrilled with low 13's. What advice do you guys have so i can start to move in a certain direction and learn more about it. Thanks guys. my car will sound like, bumbabumbubavrooooooooooooooomrooooooooahhhhhhhhhhhhh, kishhhhhh www.dsmregistry.com/detail.php?carid=643 VW= The joy of driving DSM= The frustration of fixing

people run that compression all the time, its not a big deal. If you goals are 13's then just go with the 20g, dump in alot of fuel and boost. just get it tuned correctly and there wont be a problem, there is a couple 420a's that ran 10.5 for a while. and the compression wasnt a problem

well i know alot of people run that compression since most stage 2's are that compression. What kinda problems with "too much" boost too fast on a 16g would i run in to? And what kinda spool time would i expect on a 20g? my car will sound like, bumbabumbubavrooooooooooooooomrooooooooahhhhhhhhhhhhh, kishhhhhh www.dsmregistry.com/detail.php?carid=643 VW= The joy of driving DSM= The frustration of fixing
