hey guys today i installed my unorthodox udp. i did like it says on instructions and heated the udp up in the over 500 degrees for 45 minuites, i think boosting this was me icing down the place it was going on for 10 minuites. The pulley slid on with ease. Other than that, the write up on the site was exactly what was needed. gl w/ yours guys.

I just got my afx udp in the mail and had the same idea too ice down the crank and heat the pulley. Good idea. I'm installing it hopefully this weekend along with my 60k service.

ya i didnt have to do any heating or icing either. i first brought it to a shop to have it done cause i was just too lazy to go through all of that work for it, but the shop couldnt get the stock one of so i had to do it myself. i could see the marks on the outside of the pulley where they tried to take it off. chunks were missing. i used a puller that went on the inside, and it came off with ease. the we just tapped the pulley on a little bit with a hammer, then used the longer bolt to push it on, then the stock bolt to finish it off. now if i could just get rid of the squeeky belts, that would be great. ive tried belt dressing, but its only a temporary solution, it comes back in a half an hour or less. any ideas on what to do? thanks

Agreed, once you start to turn in the crank shaft bolt, it just forces the UDP on. Getting off the stock pulley off is the only tricky part. I dunno, maybe there's a difference between the Unorthodox and the AFX.

maybe, i just heated/iced b4 anything because of the stories i heard. i snapped a big ass 5 ton puller a friend of mine had, but the 3 ton small one i bought at star auto for 32$ did the trick magically. by the way guys, it takes a ong time 2 do it... but anyone can get it done. dont be afraid to do this yourself!

yea fuck the oven...i dont like waiting so dumb stuff like that. i just put it on the garage floor, heated up the inner ring with a torch for about 30 seconds and it slid right on with one wack of a mallet. all that ticing the crank and oven heating is a huge waste of time.

I put the unorthodox in the oven @500 for like 1.5 hours, and ice on the crank, took it out of the oven and ran with the hub to the garage, and it only went one like 1 cm. I was like f$*@ 420a POS why don't you ever do what your supposed to. had to mallet that thing on

I used two 3lb drilling hammers.....I started the udp on the crank, squared it, put one hammer on the udp(square of course) and then smacked the shit out of the hammer that was held against the udp with the other hammer.
