16's will help on everything else but you will blow some of your nitrous out of the exhaust valves during overlap. someimes this can create a nice fireball though

interesting, i was going to go 12's w/ a 50 wet shot, so you say 16's would work, but are they street drivable? (ie idle etc)

justin99rs has 14s and he wishes hed gotten 16s. ive ridden in his car and the idle is PERFECT. if anything, the idle may be a bit shaky at worst, but nothing major.

I got 0018 cams, but I'm 2.4 & turbobo.

on my other car, I wanna run 0016's cause its still na with af/x ecu. 0016 is the recommended limit for stock displacement on street unless you do a high compression rebuild.

a good setup for NA nitrous imo, would be 0016 cams with ported head and 10:5:1 cr. That way later, you can still go turbo if you want.

well as of know i am decidied on the 0012 cams. I would like to see how the 16's idle, but the car would still need ot be street drivable.

PS (sorry for the hi-jack) Is there an upgrade (ecu) for the auto, i know that jet = garbage, venom = garbage lol, the only real one for our 2gnt's is the afx but i cannot use that on my car, anyone?

^^^in reading that guys feedback, i see a high number of "thanks for the chip!" replies. this leads me to believe that they dont actually reprogram the ecu, they just install the "chip" that they sell. im more than a bit wary.

The reason i said the afx chip would not work is not because of the year of my car (97 lol) but b/c of the tranny. Now looking at that web-site on ebay i agree with the previous post. Does he program the chip or send you one I am confused. Also he states it is for the 420a engine but nothing about the differences in trannies.

We have no chip to replace. You don't tear into our ECUs. Older DSMs have EPROMs which were designed to be removed (not necessarily by DSM, but the electronics industry in general) so they could be reprogrammed as needed. Unless you drive a 97 MTX and get teh AFX/R, your only other options are stand alones like the AEM (which no one has got to work on a 2gnt) or the Tec3 system.

I agree with the guy suggesting the 16s and a 10.5:1 CR. It gives you a very solid position for future mods. And Greg, you're supposed to be going turbo. What the hell happened?

never heard of tec3, i looked it up and found a dealer here in miami. I will give him a call tomorrow. THe site describes it well, but i was wondering if i can ask you some questions you might know. 1) Does it work with automatic tranny? 2) Will it increase the revlimit? 3) Would this make an AFC obsolite?
