I'm doin a custom 2.5 exhaust on my 98 gs.....mods injen cai, header & DP, afx udp, plugs & wires(I guess a mod)also a performance muffler.....I've searched and looked at RRE for the mandrel bends but now I need to know exactly which bends I'll need and should I add a resonator if so how big??? I'm not sure but I think the inlet on the muffler is only 2.25 if so will this be a problem or will it not really matter??? Any insight would be great...thanks

if the inlet on the muffler is 2.25, then have the piping made in 2.25. Your exhaust is only as big as its smallest point.

Aem Cold Air AFX 55mm TB
Fidanza Cam Gears NGK Wires
AFX UDP Greddy Header
Gutted Cat Greddy Evo Catback
Energy Suspension MMI Eibach Sportlines
Tokico Blues...always more to come

I got a ton of mandrel bend I didnt end up using when I did my custom intercooler piping. If you want to buy them they are 2.5"... the size you want. Email me at: bigpoppapump1173@hotmail.com or reply here.

...that, and you can also find them at ERT for like $16 a piece. They sell only the 180* bends, but you can cut them to anything in between as needed, so you can buy maybe 3 of them and have all the mandrel bend you need. Also, I would use 2.5"ID throughout, and then step it back down to meet the muffler inlet. Try to find a glass pack with the same diameter as your piping too. The length will be dependant on how much room you have in a straight line (so if you remove the cat, you could use a longer one). Not sure what kind of length is required vs. too much. emoji It's what I'm doing here in a few weeks, so if this isn't a good idea, well, I've got some time to rethink it. emoji

why would you go though all the time, trouble and money of fabing up a custom exhaust just to use the stock muffler? emoji
