Quick and dirty if you have the time, knowledge to do the work on your car, do it yourself and dont get lazy. I had a "sports car shop" not far from my house instal the OBX header I bought. First of all dont buy that shyt..(2 main reason they never have anything in stock/ and they wont give refund after 4 months of waiting). Anyways the shop screwed up bad. They messed up my O2 sensoer (stripped it/ banged it up good), stripped the bolts going to my cat/ and stripped the bolts going into the block. So I ended up buying a Greddy SS header/ new gasket off one of the local members thinking that would stop the exhuast leak I (think I)have. Go to install this and find all this shyt. Hears the ? for you. I got the header on and for some reason again the noise...now Im out close to 300 bucks and still have no idea about the damn noise...Oh well I guess I am going to have to tear down the engine as soon as I find another means of transportation. Anyone have any ideas? Sorry I know I posted something similar about this before but I am getting annoyed with this shyt.
Peace,
Brandon

Yeah I checked the gaskets..I actually reaplced them. The heat shield in no longer an issue as I dont have one anymore. The noise kinda sounds like a ticking...I am going to check the plugs tomorrow and see if they have anything to do with it. I just replced them in Jan but right about now I am up for trying anything. There is no noise when Im coasting...but it is def there when I hit the gas. It sounds like it coming the left side of the engine when you are looking into the bay right about the exhaust mani/head thus I thought it was just an exhaust leak but no luck. Ideas?

Exhaust leak where teh header meets the cat. Those bolts are almost always rusted to shit and if you can get the nuts off, you're not going to get them back on all the way. That's where my leak is and it sounds like ass. It's like a ticking, but it's definitely an exhaust leak.

LOL. Yeah those bolts to the cat were a pain in the ass but like I said it sounds like it coming from the engine bay. I am gonna check the heat shield under the car as well. Thanks and keep them coming guys.
Peace,
Brandon

check downpipe to cat and collector to downpipe. a good way to check is to cover the outside of the two flanges with RTV and if it blows of you know you have a leak. For some reason, I always use RTV red in conjuction with gaskets on all exhaust stuff except for head to header. I have the cool factory MLS there. Also, retorque the header bolts to make sure they havent backed out. =)
