ive been having problems with my car dying sometimes. i checked the ASD and MFI relays and they are fine. i folowed the diagnostic procedure for the fuel pump and it works.
however i noticed the my pump is pulling 7amps, and the positive wire gets VERY warm! (almost hot)
if a pump is dying will it draw more current before it dies?
i cannot find the correct current for our fuel pumps. anyone?
i think the white conector on the pump itself may be bad or overheated (giving a crappy conection)
anything will help guys emoji

thanks in advance

I've found that many people have had problems where their car will die. Mine sometimes dies at startup, but it will stay running if i hold on the gas? --everyone else tends to think that its the coolant temp sensor or fuel filter, however I think it could_be fuel pump related. I havent changed mine yet- im waiting to find out if it gets progressively worse or not.

Do our fuel pumps just go out completely? Or is it common for them to malfunction and sputter, cut out and that of the like before they go out?

Anyways, as a response; I believe it could be fuel pump related, however im not too sure on that. Think it could the the throttle position sensor?

it could be the TPS, however when i hot wire the pump at the MFI relay it dosent work. the relay checks out fine. i think it might be the conector on the pump itself. when i hot wire the pump itself its fine and teh car runs, although it does smell very rich and the wires get very warm.

i will check the tps, and coolent sensors. thx
