My car is puffing white smoke. I changed the head gasket a few months ago. My comp #s are 130-125-120-125 on a 97 w/ 110k. Do you think the head gasket was put on incorrectly or could the white smoke be caused by bad piston rings? I need some more opinions before I tear anything else down. Thx.

white smoke = blown head gasket or a cracked head. unless they shaved the bolt in the rear corner of the drivers side then you have a blown head gasket. when u redo it shave about 1/4" off of that bolt and use a mls head gasket and you will be fine.

You compression, although it's fairly close all the way across, is pretty low. Sounds liek a headgasket issue.

That's VERY low compression. I'd say you have an issue regardless of what it may actually be.

Do a wet comp test by pouring a little oil in the low cilinders and see how much the number comes up. This will help you get a rough idea if it's rings or your HG all over again... If I did not give enough detail run a search and you will find all the info you need...
