lately ive noticed a puttering noise and i cant figure out where its coming from. it sounds like an airy puttering noise but i havent felt and change in the car at all except for the noise. you can barely hear it when i am cruising but it really becomes apparent when i get on the gas and after i get off it to let it slow back down. i know i have to change one of the belt because of squealing but i dont know if thats the same problem. any ideas on whats going on.

I don't know if it is the same thing or not b/c you don't see any performance changes.

I had oil getting on top of my plugs b/c of leaking VCG. This was making it act funny, not fire correctly, and it would putter, car would act all funny for a few seconds until the rpms got higher, then it would act ok until I started to slow down...change of plugs and VCG and no problems...so if you haven't checked it out, check the tops of your plugs and see...it's a start anyway.

Good luck

BP

Hi. My name is DR1665 and I'm a no0b. emoji

Are you saying this "puttering" is mostly under load (acceleration)? What b-rok said up there is a start. Check the tops of your plugs for oil, water, splooge, whatever. Anything wet near the plugs is a major emoji . After that, I would suggest pulling the plugs to check their condition. How long since they've been replaced? How clean/old is you air filter? Just some more questions to maybe get you a better bit of help here.

You may want to check for exhaust leaks too. I don't know about puttery but an exhaust leak can sound airy - especially when you step on the gas.
