yeah i got a aem short ram intake on my 98 eclipse rs an the cone filter is right behind the fan an some people are telling me that the fan is blowing hot air on it and it is making it slow my car down is this true ? an if so should i make a heat shield

true to a point I guess, you wont notice the difference though if you heat shielded it. its not a big deal at all
fans are not always on too
Mine is the same way and has been for a while.
I run the iceman in short form cause to me the longer tubing to get the filter behind the headlight is just more restriction/bends.
