i am having yet another starting problem. it only happens in the mornings. when ever i turn my key, my car will not turn over, no better yet, it won't do anything. the starter won't come on. i've fixed this problem twice in the past month by simply disconnecting my battery and the starter. currently i have my battery and starter disconnected as i'm typing this. this has been going on now for a while. first i thought it was my alternator, and to some degree, it was my alternator, i got it tested at autozone and it was dead. i got a new alternator. the problem went a way for a while, now it's back again and worse than ever. again, when i turn the key, the fuel pump primes, it does the beep beep beep thing when the key is in the ignition but still no starter, i have lights, stereo, etc... EVERYTHING WORKS, EVERYTHING! now this will happen at other times but it's simply a delay with starting. like i'll turn the key, and it will sit for like 3 seconds and then the starter will kick on and my car will start and run perfectly. i'm thinking i just need a new starter. i checked the obvious crap. my batter was just tested a week ago at autozone and it is in perfect shape, i have a new alternator, i have dr1665/uber's ground wire kit, so it's not a corroded batter cable.what do you think. thanks for replies.

When I first started reading, it sounded like you had the fuse to your alternator blown, but once I finished the post it sounds more like a short in the wiring. Wierd IMO. Good luck.

actually, when i hooked up dr1665/uber's groundwire kit, i blew my alternator fuse by accident. i had to replace that fuse. so who knows. it's been super humid here around pittsburgh this past 2 weeks or so. it's rained a bunch. i don't know, i'm just listing everything i can think of.

Hmmm, I've never had a starter problem before, but my first guess would be the starter relay?

and the starter relay is one of the big black fuses in the fuse box under the dash, correct? are you suggesting that it might be blown or loose or what? thanks for that tip, just need to know where it's at. i lost the cover to my fuse box under the dash, so i can't use that to help me out.

This might sound stupid too, but make sure that the head on the top bolt that secures the starter has good ungunked contact with the grounding wire. The starter motor grounds through that bolt.
