I'm putting my timing belt and cam gears on tonight and I was wondering if anyone had some advise on how to make SURE it's right and that I won't have to take it all back apart once it's in the car? Thanks for your help.

Oh, you don't like altezza's? Too bad, your gonna get a good look at mine.

start by lining up the crank sprocket, now put the timing belt on the crank sprocket, work it around the water pump, under the idler gear and over the cam gear (make sure the gears timing marks are lined up centerline) over both cam gears, under the tensioner pulley. put a little pressure on the tensioner pulley with your hand on the belt.

now, get a torque wrench. put 22ft-lbs on the tensioner pulley bolt and put the hydraulic tensioner in place. *(with pin depressed by a nail) screw in both bolts handtight and then slide up the tensioner to meet the bottom of the tensioner pulley. ALL THE WHILE keeping 22 ftlbs on the tensioner pulley bolt. now tighten the tensioner retaining bolts to spec and pull the nail or whatever you have holding down the pin for the tensioner, if you did it all right and everything torqued right...the nail should be able to go in and out of the hole freely.

now give the crank 2 full roations to check to see if all the marks are still lined up, if so...pat yourself on the back emoji you just did your first 2gnt timing belt successfully

edit: threw this together real quick
