Okay, i know my rotors are warped cuz when i start to slow down from 50mph +, my steering column shakes, it makes a knocking noise it shakes so bad. not a big deal, IF its just the rotors. well when i hit a bump, (with and without braking) i hear the same sound, just one single time though. comes from the right front drivers side or from somewhere in the middle, i cant pinpoint exactly, and it definatly sounds like metal to metal contact. i checked all the stuff in those areas and cant find anything loose at all......anybody know what it might be or could my warped rotors have something to do with all this noise even when im not using my brakes? my dad said pray to god its not the transaxle or the transmission.

im panicking now, but does anybody know roughly how much a tranny or transaxle would cost rebuild or new? cuz im low on cash and still $7200 in the hole.
any help is definatly greatly appreciated!!!!!

Have you had the ball joint recall done? Could be a ball joint, upper or lower control arm bushings, tie rods, sway bar end links.

That should get you started.

It happened quite some time ago (and you can find the information on the recall on the 2GNT.com main page) but Mitsubishi dealerships are held to fixing it no matter what the condition of the OEM balljoints. I suggest you take the car to a dealership to get them done and maybe they'll enlighten you as to what else (if any) may be wrong with it.

same thing happened to me... one of my brake pads split and tore up the rotor, and after a while it just fucks it up so bad that it knocks against it self... replace your pads and rotors..... i would suggest powerstop cross drilled rotors.... $64 a piece..... use semi metallic pads.. they are cheap as hell. dont forget to bleed your breaks.

Just call up your local Satan and have your VIN ready. Tell them you need to get the ball joint recall done. They'll ask you for the VIN and set up an appointment. No biggie. Take a deep breath and chillllll. emoji

I strongly advise you to at least call the closest dealership and supply your VIN to check and see if your car still needs the recall done.

Well since you know where it is comming from, lift the car on jack stands or ramps and check over the whole underside of the engine bay. Wiggle stuff around and look at everything. Look at the suspension parts and the tranny and axles. Look at the engine and check for loose bracketts or items. If you do this you should be able to find your issue. Unfortunetly nobody can tell you what is making a knocking noise in this case because it's too broad. It could be anything from a loose bolt/brackett to a broken part. Keep looking and you will find it.

Transaxles don't rattle going over bumps.

You've probably got a dead or dying bushing somewhere. I've had one in my rear suspension since that day i bought my car. You get used to it.

Are we really so bad about answering questions? emoji

1) Your front brake rotors are warped. $50 each, get powerslot aftermarket ones if you don't want them warping again in 2 weeks.

2) Your ball-joints (or possibly other suspension joints) are also loose. Have the recall performed, or pay to have it done again.

3)
If a noise happens when you rev the engine, its probably the forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=5
