Why would you not just go right to mobil 1?

It should be fine for any breaking accoring to things I've read and heard people talk about...

Corvettes and many other high dollar/high power sports cars come from the factory w/ mobil 1, good enough reson for me.

i always have used mobil 1, but have recently heard some bad things about it.. mostly that its all hype
I started to use the castrol and after taking a few motors apart have seen no differences

i know a lot of high performance guys that just use the cheap shit..

mobil one is hype they say... use what ya want to be honest

I wouldnt break in with mobil 1 though...

first off just because a vette comes with mobile 1 doesnt mean shit. second DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC TO BREAK IN AN ENGINE, synthetic is sweet because it causes less friction between the moving parts but with a new motor you WANT friction to help the piston rings seal. get some valvoline 10w30 for 3000 miles then switch over to synthetic

just trust me on this one

I would definately break it in with just regular valvoline or something and then use royal purple 5w30. I've been using royal purple for a while and you really can notice a difference in performance. You can only get it at a speed shop, and the only downfall is the price. I can get a discount through work though so it's all good. Try it and I'll almost guarantee you will notice the difference.

What kind of oil to use is mostly opinion. Everyone has their favorite oil, just like beer.

I use Mobil 1 15W-50, along with a Mobil 1 filter. I like a heavy weight oil because of it has a high viscosity for motor oil, which leads to a slightly better heat transfer.

The Mobil 1 filter is generally pretty well known to be one of the best filters out there, however, it's pretty expensive. I think a M1-204 oil filter goes for about $12 at my local AutoZone, and Mobil 1 15W-50 goes for almost $5 a quart! Add tax and that's almost $40 for an oil change. Expensive as hell, but I like the stuff.

Mobile Clean whatever. Buck a bottle and a Mopar filter. She's stock so it doesn't matter to me.
