I searched the boards but didn't find anyone who had done this, or mentioned if it would work.
Will a cyl head from the stratus 2.4L fit onto the 2.0L motor. Both DOHC of course. Reason I ask is my 2.0 is leaking oil at the head (who's isn't), so I was going to pull the head refinish it, ARP bolts, and bolt it back up to try and rid myself of the pesky oil leak. BUT, my thoughts have always been - why replace with stock parts. So I have a spare built head from my stratus project that I would like to use. milled, cams, p&p. Would be nice if it would bolt up.

Gotcha. Appreciate the help.
Alan, yeah..that's what I was afraid of. I didn't know the possibility of her flowing the right way. I know the stratus motor inside and out, having modded it pretty thoroughly. Off to find a 2.0L head to work on then.

Are you ready for a stupid question? what would be the possibility of switching the cams around in the head, so intake cam is on the exhasut side and vice-versa, so you can use the 2.4 head on the 2.0? And then is there enough meat in there to port out the original exhaust side to intake specs, you know, so you flow the same on intake stroke. This is getting to the point that itd be way more money then its worth, oh well, food for thought anyways.

why not just reverse the cam timing. put each cam 180 degrees out from the normal, then the exhaust would theoretically become the intake and vice versa. Right? Just a thought.
Built block. Refinished head. Tuned suspension. TURBO.

Why the hell do this?? dont you know the intake and exhaust cams are designed completely different from each other with different durations and lifts based on the (wtf why i am even explaining this to the dead thread resurector).....Oh and did you not notice that intake and exhaust ports on the head are designed completely different (oh horay an exhaust with no anti-reversion hump...needless to say you would also have to craft an intake with an exhaust flange and an exhaust with an intake flange....you are EINSTEIN whopty freaking dooo!!!)You would DEFINITIVELY loose hp
You are " " this close from negative feedback from me.......

That is true...to a degree...first off the late 04 pt has a different oil passage and you would still have a head that the intake is in the front, exhaust in back....you save no money or time by going this route ok??
