I have $2000 to buy a new short block for my eclipse. I was thinking about getting Howell Automotive's 420a 2.0 L. I was wondering if it is better to get long rods or just standard if i'm planning on adding a turbo to the engine later. Thanks

1) Call either Howell or VT (I would call VT) and discuss with them what you want from your motor in the long run (all motor vs turbo vs nitrous, etc) and they will help you decide on what kind of shorblock is best for you.

OR

2) Use the search tool as there are plenty of members here that have posted either questions or progress threads regarding rebuilds and/or different flavors of 420a installs (2L, 2.2 Stroker, 2.4, etc).
