Screamin Demon is popular, that's why. Unless you have heavy mods, a basic coil upgrade like the Demon or MSD will be just fine. As for wires, there's really no need to pop for super thick Rambo wires either. I've just got Bosch replacements from Autozone on Daisy right now and probably still will come the shootout.

Screamin Demon coil (highest output according to Howell), Crane Firewire 8.5mm wires (lowest resistance = 25ohms compared to 40-50 of MSD), range hotter plugs, and a ground wire kit. This is what I run anyways...

No one has suggested an ignition amp, hmm.
For a basic upgrade sure do coil, wires and plugs. I see those as a bit more of maintanance. If you really want to add juice to your ignition system, but an ignition amp, I like the Crane units.
Depends on your set up though. If you are just running basic mods, you don't really need it. BUt higher mods, and you'll see the benefit of a stronger spark.
