#73376, "i'm out of ideas and my car is runnin icky"

i've got a 95 talon esi with 128k on it. no mods. the problem that i'm having is that the car seems to hesitate under a load, but it doesn't do it all the time. i've changed plugs, wires, and fuel filter. all of which seemed to help a little bit, but the problem still remains. today i also checked the iac motor and on 1&4 it had a resistance 52.7 and on 2&3 it was 52.4. i'm all out of ideas and am not sure what to check next. so any help would be great thanks.

Coil Pack would be next.

Are you throwing any CEL's? Since you can check resistance n whatnot, check the coolant temp sensor.

CEL 12 just means you reset the ECU within the last 50 starts. Nothing new and doesn't mean anything.

CEL 55 just means "End of Codes"

Do a search for Coil Pack testing as I'm sure there are a few threads. There is a section in my Chilton's manual that covers testing the coil pack but I'm at work and don't have access to the manual.

thanks for letting me know those codes. i checked them in my haynes book and couldn't find anything for them. maybe tomorrow before work i'll check to see if i can find anything on testing the coil pack. by chance could an O2 sensor be messing it up or would a code come up?

Your o2 sensor will generally throw a code if it actually goes out. If it's not throwing a code then the only thing you'll see (most likely but I could be wrong) is just bad gas milage.

just got back from work today, and the car is running fine now, i'm still not sure what the problem was though. this problem has been going for quite sometime and now seems to be cleared up. when i checked the coil for resistance at the primary it was out of specs so i picked up a new one and before installing checked its resistance as well... funny thing... they were the same. needless to say, i also checked the tps which is fine, so the only thing that i can think of is that a connection was loose. oh well emoji... at least its working now.
