Run a search in the announcment section. I remember a guy offering a kit for like 250. Too much for me, but if you don't want to go threw the hassle of finding the parts yourself then I guess its worth it. He also said you could upgrade the rotors and pads for a few bucks more.

#7327, "Rear disc conversion- more information"
In response to Reply # 0

I'm in the process of doing it myself. I have all the parts save for one caliper. It's really not a lot of stuff.

I don't even think you need the emergency brakes lines. From my inspection of the emergency brakes lines that connect to the drums and the ones that connect to the drum-in-disc parking brake, they look identical. I'll probably re-use it.

Thus far, I've spent $100 on everything. It appears, one more caliper will probably cost me about $25.

Here's some interesting news (information) that I never knew about until now. The early, early 95 GSX's came with VENTED rear discs. That means, that whole setup is different. That setup has lass swept area, but again is vented. Another consideration (from my research) is that it's near impossible to find upgradeable components such as the correct pads and vented rotors once the stock ones wear out. This setup was used from a build date of the beginning of 94 to 10/94 build dates.

I know all this b/c I bought a 95 setup that had a build date of 11/1/94 (are you kidding me?). It might be the first setup off the factory line that ceased to use the vented rear rotors on 2g GSX's. The problem (however slight) is that these calipers are slightly larger than the other (GS and GS-T) rear calipers used in future years, although it mounts to the back plate EXACTLY the same. I'm going to try today and acquire another 11/94 build date 95 GSX rear caliper so I can have a matching set (am I anal?). I just don't want to have different strength rear caliper pistons on the left and right due to a slight difference in size.

Again, it appears to be an easy job if you don't have to go through all the emergency brake work, which appears unnecessary (and HadesOmega didn't either).

Well, we'll see what happens, but I was able to just order 2 calipers, a right and left set. If anyone wants to buy my other right left rear caliper, I'll sell it cheap when my two get here in the mail. Tell me quick though, b/c if noone wants it, I'm going to take it back to the local salvvage yard. (jboltz@warpnet.net)

I plan to take some pictures to supplement the FAQ that's already been done. I just can't stand those ugly ass drums.

Ha! (no you don't...you should see how many tards I work with!)

Not too long ago my car didn't look so nice though. (stock heighth, no rims, no side skirts...etc.) Didn't take much to make it look how it is....just a lot of thought.

Thanks though man! emoji

Bought it from a salvage yard. I've just bought two more from another salvage yard. The salvage yard I bought the first caliper from basically threw in the shield/ parking drum, and rotors for free($25 more for all of it) after buying the caliper.

IMO, the allmitsubishi rear kit package is too expensive. After I return the right rear caliper and recieve the two matching ones I bought for $50, I'll have acquired the whole thing for $100 (and that's including the parking brake cables that I won't use.)
