This is really strange...

my car will start fine after like 2 days of sitting... but today I drove to Kragen, no problems idle is fine no cel's... park... buy Mr Clean AutoDry (which sucks by the way) go back to my car and it doesnt want to start! Have to give it two tries ...

Starter? Battery? Fuel pump and filter are like 4000 miles old.

Battery has a warranty on it, sears is right by my work so it would be easy to start there...

turbo timer+voltmeter hover around 12.9-13.6 which is about average for my car...

I'm kind of having the same issue and it's very intermittent and I cant replicate the problem when desired. If it's been sitting for over a day and I go to start it on some occasions it fires right up for a second that then cuts off. Not like sputters dead but just cuts out. Let it sit for a second and start it again and stays running. No CEL's or anything. emoji 420A gremlins IMO.

I would say that the starter is fine because the engine started and idled. The battery is probably ok just because the starter was able to do it's job. Now I would suspect that your problem is in your fuel system, mabe some dirty injectors, fuel filter, fuel pump, or fuel pressure regulator.

my car just started doing this, and i have a brand new fuel filter. But if I let my car sit overnight and then try to start it, it will just start, and die. Today I tried to start it, and i felt it about to die, and i gave it a lil gas, and it kept running. emoji

I have the same issue with my 96 eclipse GS. I have a buddy that works on imports at a dealership and I asked him about it. He told me that it was normal and that most 4 cylinder motors have this issue. He works on both new and used cars and he told me that he's seen this issue on new cars. I then told him that my Mom's 95 Toyota Celica has never done it and she has 93,000 miles on it. He then said that it is an issue with the way the motor is balanced. Sometimes when the pistons are just being fired (when you first start the car) they can be unbalanced for a few seconds and that is why we have this issue. He also said that the reason my Mom's car dosen't have this issue is probably because she has a special balancer that certian manufactures install to solve this. The reason that it only happens when the car sits for a while, I have no clue. Im not totally sure if this is accurate but I figured I could at least give some insight.
