I went and did a compression check on my cylinders today.

So my next question is ...does that look right?
Could I still have a rod about to blow or maybe its a valve tapping?
The spark plugs looked like they were caked in oil...
any ideas will help

thats weird. usually if you have 3 cyl. that are the same the 4th is lower. did you try adding a little oil to the cylinders and checking the compression again. if not you should. it the compression goes up it's your rings.

the thing im worried about is weither its a valve or a rod.
