#71995, "What should i do next?"

I am set to buy a 97 eclipse rs with a stage 2 star turbo kit. It can be viewed on the previous owners cardomain page here: http://www.cardomain.com/id/mitifto
THe car is goregous and has many upgrades which i will list now:
Interior:
*Corbeau Racing seats with Harness
*Carbon Fiber Trim Kit
*Mach V Short Shift Kit
*Two Tone Custom Interior
*Indiglo Gauges
*Custom Short Shift

Exterior:
*Molded Blitz Body Kit
*Wings West Commando Wing
*TYC Carbon Fiber Rear Lights
*APC Carbon Fiber side Mirrors
*Multi Layer Candy Blue Paint w/ Ghost Flames

Engine:
*Garret T4T3 turbo
*Turbonetics Wastegate
*HKS BOV
*HKS Intercooler
*Boost Controller
*Walboro 255 fuel pump
*12:1 boost-indexed fuel pressure regulator
*2.50" downpipe
*Chrome Piping
*Polished intake Manifold, Valve Cover, Turbo
*Apex N1 3" Exhaust
* Missing Link
*Oil Catch Can
* Stainless hoses

Suspension:
*Eibach Pro Kit springs
*Tokico HP Shocks
*Parada Spec II Tires 225/40/18
*Konig Imagine 18 x 7.5" wheels

Stereo:
*MTX 15" 6000
*6x9 Pioneer
* 5 1/2 pioneer
*Pioneer 7400 mp3 HU
* Kicker Impulse Amp

The ownwer says its perfect now and runs like a 13.8 quater mile, but to be honest i'd like to make it a little faster. WHat should i do next? I dont want to be running too much HP and jeopardize the engine, axle, or any other components that may be at risk. I need advice on what to do. I was considering rebuilding the bottom end and running more boost (Right now its at 8psi) but i dont know if the car could handle any more even with new pistons, rods, etc. PLEASE HELP ME!

You bought mitifto's car? Well build the bottom end, the head and turn up the boost. 3inch down pipe, 8 injector mod, just to name a few.

Yup im buying it tuesday. but yea like be more specific, in order to run more boost what all do i gotta do? ive been told the axle doesnt hold too much hp and could possibly snap especially on the RS. How much am i looking at spending to do all this? I wanna be faster but at the same time i wanna be careful, the car is practically in mint condition and only has 38k miles, i'd hate to do anything that would hurt it.

You will need to bullet proof the bottom end before you can get mad with the boost and make more power. You'd also be wise to contact a vendor like ERT and see what they would recommend in the way of headwork to maximize flow. It looks like it's a pretty tight car (I know I've always liked it emoji ) Upgraded axles are an easy fix. Just check out Raxles.com for them. Just keep in mind, if you don't have a lot of experience with tuning a turbo'd 420A, you might want to take it easy at first until you really get to know her. 13.8 is pretty quick for a 2GNT imo. Once you become one with the car, then you'll be better able to say "I want to do this here and change that there..."

Congrats on the purchase! Glad to hear it's staying in the family so to speak. emoji

Thanks a bunch everyone, mainly your DR. That is what i planned on doing anyways, not just to see what needs tweaking but also monetary issues as well. Gotta save up some cash before i can really start to have too much fun with it. When i do decide to start pouring money into her ill make another post n probably be asking for more advice as to what to do first, etc. Thanks again!
