im almost ready to start putting my engine back together....where do i get that red o-ring? what is it called..... is there another seal between the oil filter? i never took off my oil filter mount thing, i just left it on..... and how much of that anerobic sealer should i use? thanks..and any other advice could help.... doug

If it didn't come with all your rebuild stuff, I think you need to go to Satan for this one sir. You have to have it and you don't want to chance having the wrong one leak imo.
As for the where and how much on the anareobic stuff, dl the service manual in Dino's sig. There is a diagram in there in the rebuild section that shows where it goes and how much to apply. I'd tell you, but I might be wrong and, again, this is not the time to be making guestimates imo.

ok, i didnt buy a rebuild kit...i bought the stuff seperately.... i guess ill have to go to satan, better not be too much though....anything else you think i might be forgetting...any tricks? thanks doug

thanks man!!....i just looked at my block, it looks like i actually have two? is that correct, it looks like one red one on the bedplate, and the other is on the actual block? do i only need one? thanks doug

you only need one. the red one that goes between the bedplate and the block. there is also one that goes under the oil filter thingy-ma-jigger (where the filter screws up against).
only one for bed plate to block tho.

ok, does the engine come stock with 2? or is that red sealant i saw? i just remember seeing 2 red circles both on the bedplate and block....i didnt take my oil filter off, so i dont need to worry about that...thanks again for all your help... doug

this is the only o-ring between the bedplate and block. the other is between the oil filter deck and the bedplate (oil pan side). that make sence?
