does anyone know how to tell if the computer is bad or not? i've taken my car to the shop, taking them forever to even check it out, for head gasket, timing belt, and starting problems. from the get go the mechanic talks about the CPU. and he keeps on. i'm not so sure that i trust him and was wondering if there was any way i could make sure he wasn't lying to get some more cash. and how much does one cost? 95 eclipse gs. thanks

A matt I think I've found out the problem too my car and maybe yours too from the starter follow the wire up and you'll see a plug connector make sure the wires r good on that connector MINES WERE kinda dangling touching the trans mission so when the connector got hot my car would not start and plus the connection was kinda not good I put heat shielding over it and I've had no problems since.that connection is right above the trasmission on the wiring harness and it sends a signal to the starter if you dissconnect that plug the car won't even crank it will do nothing not even a check engine light your computer should be good since your car is mostly stock right ,take it to a real mitsu dealer and have it diagnosed those other guys will try to rip you off

yeah i think they are. i'll make it a point to go by the garage and check that out. i don't want to get screwed out of some money that i need. thank a lot
