#71695, "good or bad idle????"

A lot of ppl have been saying that they have bad idle problems so I was woundering what constitute bad idling and what constitutes good idle. My car idles at around 1000 would this be considered normal or good idle?

Mine idles at 1100 until it's warmed up. The it goes up and down from 900-700ish after it's warm.

EDIT: Yes, your idle is normal though imo. I would think a bad idle would be going from that 1100 and dipping to 200 and then revving back up.

when mine is warmed up and ready, it's around 800-900 RPM, because I've been having TPS issues sometimes it goes to around 1100 I've had it as high as 1500-2000 RPMs at idle...i'd hit the gas and it goes down..

700-800 is a little low. mine usually sits at 850 give or take a few rpms. if you guys wanna stabilize your idle, feel free to buy a groundwire kit. checkout the links below. =)

Does that really steady your idle? Or are you just trying to take advantage of noobs like me?

i thought they ground wire kit was bullshit but i thought it looked cool so i bought it.... all i have to say is that the kit is NOT bullshit.. my idle was really jumpy, so i replaced my spark plugs and that helped a little bit but when i got the ground wire kit it sits pretty steady at 1000

spark plug wires are the best place to start. I replaced mine and the car runs so much smoother

should let all cars warm up for 2-3 minutes before driving off... oil isnt where it needs to be, or at the proper viscosity to protect your engine from damage when its just started up... ideally everyone should have an oil accumulator but thats never gonna happen... lol

Mine idle's at about between 850 - 1000; But sometimes, when i start it up, it'll act like its not getting any gas and the idle drops for a sec and the car studders, but then it shoots itself back up to about 2000 and then idles fine from there on out. It occurs most commonly when its cold, but--has anyone else experience this and is this normal? and if not, what would be the cause, and how can i fix it?
