#71683, "Is this correct about MLS HG and milling?"
I got my head milled at a local shop because im replacing my head gasket. I brought it to a performace shop to ask about port and polishing it and the guy told me that the head wasnt milled fine enough to use with a MLS head gasket. He just looked at it really quick. Does my head need to be milled very finely to use MLS? Im using Copper Spray to seal the gasket, so does that matter at all? Also how should I apply the copper to the gasket and how much?

the only reason you would need a mill is if the head is warped like a mofo or there are deep scratches on the surface of the head.

as long as the surface is true you will not need to mill, maybe he is trying to get some bussiness from you
