#71580, "02 Sensor help"

I have been having hesitation problems and running in the so-called "safe-mode" where the car will not rev past 3500-4000rpm even when under WOT. I heard that it could be two things, either the 02 sensor or the MAP. I took the MAP sensor off of my parts car so I dont think that is the problem. I bought a new 02 sensor and it turns out to be the wrong one.

Problem is I cannot return it after it was opened, especially since its and electrical part. Its a 4-wire setup.

On the stock sensor:
1. grey wire
1. black wire
2. white wires

On the 02 I just bought there are:
1. blue wire
1. white wire
2 black wires

Anyone know what wires do what? I would like to just splice the new sensor to the old connector. Not my ideal solution, but after spending $120 that I didnt really have, right now its my only option.

Can anyone help a brotha out?

Thanks
jon

If it's the wrong one, then you have to be able to return it, I say: "Search these pages for the correct O2 sensor, then go back where you got it, and make a huge scene if you have to until you get the right one, or your money back." They should exchange it as long as you haven't used it. I got the wrong bosch one from Napa...drove about 250 miles with the CEL for it, then took it to Napa and told them it was wrong... but here's the exact part number I needed, and told them to return the old one saying it was defective...worked for me. If they F(ck up, then they HAVE to fix it. Oh, and when you buy the right one...it plugs right in and the wires match up too. Good Luck

Does anyone know if the stock 02 sensor is from Bosch or NGK? I found a wiring diagram on NGK's site and the diagram outlined how to fit one of their universal sensors onto another by matching certain wire colors from each sensor. I found a diagram that matched what colors I have.

Just wanted to see if the stocker is an NGK so I can feel confident when I splice and dice.

Thanks
