lately (past 3days) when i turn on the car, the rpms rise normal, but then drop to almost 0..and the car seems to want to shut off, but it doesnt. same happens when i'm driving, dsnt matter how long i drive, but when i downshift and come to a stop, the rpms drop to 1/0 and the car almost shuts off, i quickly give it gas. hasnt shut off on me yet, but i think its going to soon! what could be the problem?? tia

mine does the same thing, especially when the ac is on, i thought it mightve been a vacuum line or something but it doesnt do it all the time. check engine light is on but i never checked for a cel.

Mine does that when the battery is stone dead(\after leaving lights on and whatnot) But it does that cause theres no power even for th ECU to run. When it happens I just hold the revs a 2G and let it idle high for a minute.

Could be your fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump (doubt that one), coolant temp sensor, one of the other billion sensors we have....lot to look for. Any codes? Scanned it lately?
It's not a vac leak, your idle goes up with vac leaks.

mine does it when i press the clutch in. the rpms will fall all the way to zero and it will bog out and go dead. but like i said it doesnt do it all the time though. i know my speed sensor doesnt work , maybe that has something to do with it but i doubt it...

Don't doubt it, I've read* that the speed sensor somehow tells the IAC how much air to let in, and this matters alot when decelerating too...then again I've heard* that when the speed sensor absolutely doesn't work that the ECU just uses it's default settings. Don't overlook the possibilities, it could be as simple as a vacuum leak! Use the search engine to see what to check before assuming what you have no idea about.

check the resistance through ur iac with a meter check 1 and 4 should have have 38-52 ohms then check 2 and 3 should have the same terminal is setup like 1234 the VSS will have no effect on the iac
