#70994, "If you are stuttering, running rich, having idle problems....CHECK YOUR COOLANT TEMP SENSOR!"

Okay, after debating, thinking, and basically changing every sensor I thought would affect my idle/fuel mix with no result I find out it's my Coolant Temp Sensor emoji

Finally got it limped to a shop yesterday and the damn thing was reading -29 degrees coolant temp. And as it was explained to me the ECU is seeing -29 degrees so it's telling the IAC to open up and idle the engine to warm it up, and that in turn is dumping more fuel in to my engine. But the intake air temp sensor is seeing cold air (Duh, i have a CAI and it's 30 degrees outside), so that in turn is fucking with the system as well.

So after I replace that sensor today everything should be golden. Other than that I have no CEL's for bad sensors or anything else other than my EGR malfunctioning...which....uh....it doesn't exist emoji

is that the one located right ... in front of or behind the thermostat? I looked the other day and it seems like there are two different sensors there not just the one temp sensor

Yes, there are 2 coolant temp sensors on the thermostat housing. One of them has one wire coming out of it, which is for the dash temp gauge. The other one is for the ECU to read from. It prob wouldn't trip a CEL either, since it was still giving info to the ECU..just wasn't the *right* info..

They sell them at AutoZone for pretty damn cheap imo. Of course, my car still does some weird idling and once in awhile I get the CEL 22 - Coolant Temp Sensor Voltage Too Low, but I dunno. It's been gone awhile now. emoji

Glad to hear you got this figured out before you spent a shitload of money on it man! LOL emoji
