#70966, "Where is the leak coming from (long explanation)"

Well I put a new oil sending unit it yesterday because their was oil around it but their is still the oil leak and it not.I put allot of silicone on one of the bolts that bolt the bed plate to the top half of the block because the place that built my bottom end said it might be coming from their. The bolt did have oil all over it when I took it out but its still after I put silicone on it.Their is nothing else over in that area where the oil could be coming from so Im lost.It coming from around the mid block and where the tranny and block meet. The flywheel and the inside of the bell housing doesnt have any oil on it and the oil leak is in the same spot all the time.Could it still be the rear main seal??Or could the block have a crack in it.

That sounds like a headgasket or valve cover leak, I would clean the back of your engine off w/ degreaser so you can pinpoint it. Maybe they forgot that little oring that goes inbetween the block and bedplate.

The o-ring was not left out. Also its not the valve cover or the headgasket.A buddy of mine put some dye in and we cleaned the hole back end of the block with brake cleaner and their is no oil leaking from that high up.It coming right around the middle of the block near the bell housing. What does everyone else think it could be?

Would using JB weld on in the middle of the block work?

I would put RTV sealant over the leakage. Then put JB Weld over the RTV sealant, and a little surrounding the area.

My Eclipse was sold to cougar694u!

I second that emoji

JB Weld works okay but that is not the right way to fix something. And it will definitely not bond over silicone.

Can you weld that part of the block?Do you have any helpfull suggestions besides rippin it apart. The guy that built the block said their is a oil galley up between the bell housing and block that oil might be coming out of.If that isnt it then he said it would be the bed plate.

I think we should just yank it back out and check the bedplate. Maybe the builder forgot to put anarobic along that part.
