Can you confirm if I need to first remove the manual transmission on a 95 Eclipse in order to remove the Engine? Based on the space available on the front side It appears I do.

You do not. The clutches are modular and can be unbolted from the thin flexplate, meaning you only need the 1" or so available on the front side of the motor to extract the engine from the bay without the trans.
